Multiplying/Dividing Rational Expressions

NOTES
Multiplying Rational Expressions (problem 1)
1. Factor all numerators and denominators
2. Cancel Common Factors
3. Multiply remaining factors in numerator and denominator
Dividing Rational Expressions (problem 2)
1. Rewrite problem as multiplication of reciprocal
2. Factor all numerators and denominators
3. Cancel Common Factors
4. Multiply remaining factors in numerator and denominator
(x does not equal 0 because the reciprocal of the quotient would be undefined)

PROBLEM 1

PROBLEM 2

REFLECTION
When we first started doing this in class, it frustrated me because I thought there were so many steps to do and it confused me. But when you go step by step, there really aren't that many steps. It is mostly just cancelling out.
